SHREVEPORT, La. — People looking to spend time outdoors while creating art will have a chance to do both during “Art in the Park” at Betty Virginia Park, 3901 Fairfield Ave.
The event is scheduled for Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. and is designed to bring together artists, nature lovers and members of the community in an outdoor setting.
Participants are encouraged to bring blankets, refreshments and any art supplies they may want to use during the event. Some materials, including paper and paint, may also be available on site.
Organizers say the event is free and open to the public.
The gathering encourages attendees to take inspiration from the natural surroundings of the park — similar to the way Impressionist painters often created artwork outdoors “en plein air”.
